About Me:

Mohamed Hassan is a journalist, photographer, and videographer who has worked in both the digital and broadcast mediums for years.

He started as a freelance film critic interviewing A-list stars like Robert De Niro, Elijah Wood, Jennifer Lopez, and many more.

In 2014, he began working for MSNBC on three news shows fulfilling various roles over a period of two years as a production assistant, graphics producer, segment producer, booking producer, and breaking news anchor producer. While working as a broadcast journalist, he began covering pop culture stories for NBCNews.com. In early 2016, he began writing full time for NBCNews.com covering breaking news, pop culture, politics, and social justice stories. He also produces, shoots, and edits news feature packages for the site that are picked up by MSNBC.

During the height of the 2016 election campaign, he covered many stories about incidents of Islamophobia.

In 2017, he began working as a reporter/producer for the New York Post until 2020 when he became an associate digital editor. He copyedited stories, wrote pithy often pun-filled headlines, curated the homepage and sent out news alerts.

Currently he is a platform editor at The Wall Street Journal where he curates content on both the homepage and app, writes headlines, coordinates with various teams to amplify the visuals in stories and writes breaking news alerts for WSJ’s mobile, email, and Apple News audiences.
